Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova sent a note of protest to the Russian ambassador, Oleg Ozerov, in response to Moscow's interference in the country's elections and violations of its airspace
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) condemned the illegal and deliberate involvement of the Russian Federation in the electoral process in Moldova. According to the ministry, the aim of these interventions was to distort the results of the presidential elections and the constitutional referendum.
Additionally, the MFA strongly condemned the violation of Moldova's airspace following the discovery of two Russian drones within the country’s territory on November 10—one in the Căușeni district and another in the Rîșcani district.
The ministry stated, “Competent institutions in our country have clear information indicating that the Russian Federation launched the drones. The ambassador was informed that such aggressive incursions constitute a serious violation and an unfriendly act from the Russian Federation, as these drones endanger the lives of our citizens.”
In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated its request for the Russian authorities to immediately cease these actions and to refrain from any interference in Moldova's internal affairs.
