Dorin Recean: Legislation will be changed to ban political parties created by criminal groups

The legislation on parties is to be amended to prevent the creation of political formations by criminal groups and vote- buying, said Prime Minister Dorin Recean. The Prime Minister mentioned on Radio Moldova that, in the context of justice reform, more courageous people are needed in law enforcement institutions, who will fight electoral bribery.

"At the last minute, several prosecutors and judges acted responsibly and promptly. While we were unable to fully defend democracy, we recognize that more is needed. Laws and the criminal code are important, but the individuals who implement these laws also play a crucial role. This is why, we constantly consider how to encourage people to take action and enforce the law, as their only expectation is to respect and apply it,” stated Dorin Recean.

Furthermore, Dorin Recean recently announced that the Government will create a list of security and financial guarantees for prosecutors and judges who take on complex electoral bribery cases. This initiative aims to protect and support them in their fight against criminals.
