Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the death of the rabbi of the Jewish community in Abu Dhabi: We firmly condemn any act of violence and anti-Semitism
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau has confirmed the death of Zvi Kogan, the rabbi of the Jewish community in Abu Dhabi. Kogan was a citizen of both Israel and the Republic of Moldova and lived in the United Arab Emirates under Moldovan citizenship with resident status. Following the discovery of his lifeless body, three individuals were detained by the Emirati authorities.
In response to this incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs firmly condemns any acts of violence and anti-Semitism, reiterating the country's commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and respect for the fundamental rights of all citizens.
The ministry is currently in contact with the authorities of the United Arab Emirates and Israel to clarify the circumstances surrounding this case and to provide support to the victim's family.
"We convey our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones during this profoundly painful time. Representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Abu Dhabi are closely monitoring the investigation", reads the statement.
