Higher energy compensation. Prime Minister Dorin Recean announces new support measures for the population

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection will present additional support measures for the population on Wednesday, after the National Energy Regulatory Agency examines and approves a new natural gas tariff, said Prime Minister Dorin Recean in the “Bună Seara” show on Moldova 1 TV. The Head of the Executive said that the Government will allocate more financial means for the payment of energy compensation.

“I have ordered the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection to make calculations regarding additional measures to support the population, so that this season citizens do not pay more on bills. The preliminary calculations are ready, and tomorrow after the ANRE decision, Minister Buzu will announce additional support measures. We will allocate more money for compensations, that is why we have postponed by a week both the budget rectification for 2024 and the budget for 2025”, claims Dorin Recean. The Prime Minister called on citizens to save electricity in the context of a possible energy crisis in our country.

“I ask you very much to save energy. Let's close the windows, turn off the lights when not needed. For the majority of those living in the Chisinau municipality, we have approved a project to switch them to vertical heating. We already have the financing. There, each one will be able to regulate their temperature and have a strict personal motorization of the energy they consume in each apartment”, concluded the Prime Minister.

We remind you that the Government approved on Wednesday a draft decision that establishes the mechanism for calculating compensations in the current heating season, depending on the size of the tariffs, income and expenses of households.
