Romanian parliamentary elections in Moldova: How to vote

In the Republic of Moldova, the first voters have cast their ballots to elect representatives to the Romanian Parliament. Romanian citizens can vote over two days, November 30 and December 1, between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM.

By 13:00, over 39 thousand Romanian citizens had voted in the diaspora. In the Republic of Moldova, around 5800 voters turned out to vote.

Over 3,700 Moldovans with Romanian citizenship voted in the parliamentary elections in Romania.

To be eligible to vote, citizens must show a valid document issued in the Republic of Moldova, along with one of the following valid Romanian identity documents: identity card, electronic identity card, provisional identity card, ID card, diplomatic passport (including electronic), service passport (including electronic), regular passport (including electronic), temporary passport, or military service book for students in military schools.

Voting is not permitted using travel documents, and voter cards are not used.

In these parliamentary elections, Romanian citizens are choosing their representatives for the bicameral Parliament of Romania. A total of 31 political parties and alliances, as well as 19 national minority organizations, are vying for 136 Senate seats and 330 seats in the Chamber of Deputies. The lists also include Moldovan citizens.

It should be noted that 59 polling stations were opened in the Republic of Moldova for the Romanian parliamentary elections, with the majority located in Chișinău (16).

Voting abroad takes place in 950 polling stations over two days: Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM (local time). Due to time zone differences, voting in the diaspora extends over a span of 59 hours.

The polling stations in the western United States and Canada will be the last to open and close, at 7:00 AM Romanian time on Monday, December 2.
