Uncertain situation in Iliciovca commune, Florești district, after the second round of the new local elections. Although Irina Volciuc, the candidate of the "Renaștere" Party, was excluded from the race before the election by a decision of the Constituency Electoral Council, she managed to score 58% of the votes. The decision to cancel her registration was confirmed by the Central Electoral Commission and later upheld by the Soroca Court, which rejected the appeals filed by the candidate's representatives. The final result now depends on a decision of the Court of Appeal.
In the Boșcana commune, Criuleni district, the second round of the new local elections was also held on Sunday. According to preliminary data presented by the CEC, Viorica Stăvilă from the Action and Solidarity Party won the position of mayor with a difference of only 19 votes. Thus, Stăvilă scored 50.9% of the votes in the second round of the new local elections, and his opponent Serghei Catan, who ran independently, scored 49.1%.
New elections were held in Boșcana after the former mayor of the locality was disqualified from holding a public office for 3 years.
