Romanians in the Republic of Moldova vote massively for USR. PNL ranks second
In the Republic of Moldova, after processing 57 of the 59 minutes, the Salvați România Union (USR) ranked first in voters' preferences, with over 54% of the votes. In second place was the National Liberal Party (PNL), with about 23% of the votes, followed by the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR) and the Social Democratic Party (PSD), each scored 5% of the votes.
The parliamentary election in Romania, held over two days in the Republic of Moldova, attracted over 81,000 voters with Romanian citizenship, who voted at the 59 polling stations open across the country.
The turnout was similar to that recorded in the first round of the presidential elections on November 24, confirming the increased interest of Romanian citizens in the Republic of Moldova in the electoral process.
Voters in the Republic of Moldova are among the most active in the Romanian diaspora.
