CSM gives green light: General Prosecutor can start criminal proceedings against a judge
Prosecutors can start criminal proceedings against a magistrate of the Chișinău Court based in Centru, suspected of having concealed certain data from his statement on wealth and personal interests. The decision was made by the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) on December 2, at the request of the General Prosecutor, Ion Munteanu.
Seven members of the CSM voted for the prosecution of the magistrate. Two voted "against". The subject was discussed behind closed doors.
According to the CSM, the magistrate is suspected of including incomplete or fake data, as well as he failed to include data in the declaration of wealth and personal interests.
