U.S. announces $725M military aid for Ukraine against Russia
The United States will deliver a $725 million military aid package to Ukraine, Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on December 2.
This move comes as President Joe Biden's administration, approaching the end of its term, seeks to strengthen Kyiv's defenses against Russian forces before the power transition in January.
"Today, I am announcing the delivery of $725 million in additional military aid for Ukraine's defense. The United States, along with over 50 nations, stands united with Ukraine," Blinken wrote on platform X.

The package will include Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, ammunition, drones, and anti-tank mines.
With fewer than two months remaining before Donald Trump’s inauguration, the Biden administration has stated that it aims "to ensure that Ukraine possesses the capabilities it needs to defend itself against Russian aggression."
Last month, the United States announced its first shipment of anti-personnel mines to Ukraine, a decision that drew criticism from human rights organizations.
