The Ministry of Energy, in collaboration with Sergiu Tofilat, has proposed four candidates to the Board of Directors of "Moldovagaz" following a competition held on September 19. The candidates are Dorin Junghietu for president, Ion Ceban for vice president, Eduard Calancea and Radu Mandraburcă as board members. Prime Minister Recean called civil society to appoint a new member to the Board of Observers to replace Sergiu Tofilat.

Although the new Board of Directors was scheduled to be approved on September 25, members of the Supervisory Board from "Gazprom" did not agree to this. The board comprises six members—two from the Republic of Moldova and four from the Russian company. Decisions require at least five votes for approval. After a meeting with representatives from Gazprom, former Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov announced that a consensus had been reached with the Russian side regarding the approval of the new Board of Directors for "Moldovagaz."
