Voting for the second round of the presidential elections in Romania starts abroad
The first polling stations, including those in the Republic of Moldova, opened today, and the voting period will last for three days. Voters can cast their votes starting at 12:00 today, on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 to 21:00. There is an option to extend voting until 23:59 for citizens who are in line at the polling station by 21:00.
Moldovans with Romanian citizenship can vote at 59 polling stations set up across the Republic of Moldova. According to the Romanian Embassy in Moldova, there are 17 polling stations in the northern region, 34 in the central region (including 16 in Chișinău), and eight in the southern region.
In Romania, citizens will vote in the second round only on Sunday, December 8. The electorate must choose between the liberal candidate, Elena Lasconi, nominated by the Save Romania Union, and the independent sovereignist candidate, Călin Georgescu, who were the top contenders in the first round of voting.
