F-16s bolster Ukraine’s air defense against Russia
Ukraine has received a second batch of F-16 fighter jets from Denmark. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the delivery.
According to Kyiv’s leadership, the six F-16s delivered by Denmark in the first batch are already being used to intercept Russian missiles, significantly bolstering Ukraine’s air defenses and saving lives while protecting critical infrastructure.
“The aircraft provided by the Danes in the first batch are already shooting down Russian missiles and saving the lives of our people, as well as our infrastructure. Now, our air shield has been further strengthened. If all our partners had been as determined, it would have already been possible to prevent Russian terror,” Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram.
In total, Denmark has pledged to deliver 19 American-made fighter jets.
The Netherlands and Denmark are leading a coalition, including Belgium and Norway, to deliver the F-16s to Ukraine.
