Maia Sandu leaves for a working visit to Brussels for meetings with the new leadership of the European institutions
President Maia Sandu will pay a working visit to Brussels on December 10-11, where she will meet with the new leadership of European institutions. Her agenda includes discussions with several key figures, including Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission; António Costa, President of the European Council; Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament; and Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
During her visit, Sandu aims to address the integration of the Republic of Moldova's economy into the European single market, attract investments, finance infrastructure projects, and support small and medium-sized enterprises. These efforts are geared towards creating well-paid jobs and enhancing the quality of life for citizens, reads a press release of the Presidential Press Service.
Additionally, the agenda will cover the continuation of judicial reforms, the fight against corruption, and the strengthening of the rule of law. Energy security and ensuring stable energy sources for all residents will also be a focus.
Furthermore, a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is scheduled. This discussion will revolve around the longstanding 30-year partnership between the Republic of Moldova and NATO, along with regional security issues.
