Another member of the former "Șor" party, which has been declared unconstitutional, will stand trial. The president of the Ștefan Vodă territorial office of the party is facing charges of complicity in the illegal financing of the political party by an organized criminal group.
According to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, in 2022, the defendant allegedly helped organize protests in Chisinau by mobilizing hundreds of people. For this purpose, she is said to have used over 2.3 million lei.
She has denied her guilt and faces a potential sentence of up to seven years in prison.
Additionally, it was announced yesterday that the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has forwarded a similar case to court involving the president of the Ocnița territorial organization of the Șor party.
