Tiraspol about the ban on the export of energy resources. Reaction of the Reintegration Bureau
The de facto leader of Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselski, has revised his proposal to ban the export of energy resources during the state of emergency in the economy and pointed aut that the restriction will not be applied to electricity, as long as the region is provided with natural gas. Representatives of the Reintegration Bureau reiterated, in a comment for Teleradio-Moldova, Chisinau's readiness to provide "all available forms of assistance" to ensure the protection of citizens living in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
Vadim Krasnoselski revised his so-called decree on the state of emergency in the economy just one day after its publication. The initial proposal to completely restrict the export of energy resources sparked a wave of reactions, including concerns, tempered by the authorities' assurances that the right bank will not be left without the electricity it procures in a proportion of almost 90 percent from the Cuciurgan Power Plant.
In a comment provided today for Teleradio-Moldova, the Reintegration Policy Bureau reiterates that "Chisinau is always open to a constructive dialogue and is ready to offer all forms of assistance available to ensure the protection of its citizens living in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova".
We recall that, on Monday, the resigning interim director of "Energocom" - an institution that directly procures electricity from the left bank of the Nistru River - stated for Teleradio-Moldova that both the right and left banks are provided with energy resources, and the risks of immediate disconnections "are excluded".
We would like to point out that, starting from January 1, 2025, the contract for the transit of natural gas from the Russian Federation through Ukraine expires. Kiev has announced that it will not start discussions with the Russian Federation for its extension. The authorities in Chisinau have already warned that "a tough winter is coming" and have promised higher compensation for consumers who heat with natural gas, in the context of the tariff increase from December 1. The Minister of Social Protection said that the Government is considering increases in compensation if electricity and heating tariffs increase.
