According to the official, the purchase price is currently an obstacle, that is why, the European Commission secured the financial resources. Thus, the 250 million euros, in the evaluation of the European Commission, are enough for the Republic of Moldova to get through this winter. "Finally, we will start the European mechanism for the common purchase and storage of gas, a mechanism open to the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia. The Republic of Moldova has already announced its participation in this mechanism. We will buy gas in common, store it in common and make it available to the states that need it when they need it. So, the Republic of Moldova will also be able to be helped through this mechanism. We will have to expand the energy transport capacities across the Prut between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, both gas and electricity, both to the north and to the south. It's a project that we have to do and the European Union will support," said MEP Siegfried Mureșan. We remind you that the Republic of Moldova has stored volumes of natural gas in warehouses in Romania and Ukraine. Currently, they constitute over 200 million cubic meters.
