Romania, Bulgaria join Schengen: Easier travel for Moldovans
Starting January 1, 2025, Romania and Bulgaria will become part of the Schengen Area. This means travelers crossing the border between Moldova and Romania will no longer face border checks within the EU.
For Moldovan citizens, this is great news. Smoother border crossings will save time for those traveling to Central and Western Europe.
While border procedures won't change much initially, there might be extra checks, potentially leading to longer wait times, especially during peak travel seasons.
To ensure smooth travel within the EU, travelers should check their passport's validity and consult official sources for the latest travel requirements.
