Population Census 2024: When will the first preliminary data be announced?
The first preliminary data of this year's population census will be announced at the end of this month. More precisely, some general information about the number of citizens of the Republic of Moldova and their activity will be presented, but detailed final results will be available and published by the end of 2025, Alina Jalba, spokesperson for the National Bureau of Statistics, told Radio Moldova.
"The results were expected for the end of the month. We are now working and will come up with an official announcement, we will send an invitation, we will announce the networks. There will be data related to the population, but different branches of the population, but I tell you that they are preliminary, that is, the final data will be already next year, at the end of next year. It is a very extensive data processing process”.
We remind you that the Population and Housing Census was carried out between April 8 and July 7, 2024, with almost 2.5 million people being surveyed, with and without residence in the Republic of Moldova.
This year's census in the country was organized and conducted in digital format for the first time, with data from the population being collected through face-to-face interviews, using tablets and digital maps.
The process of collecting data was carried out in compliance with confidentiality and ensuring data protection rules.
