Two elderly people in Drochia and Taraclia die of carbon monoxide poisoning
Two elderly people died of carbon monoxide poisoning from stoves. According to IGSU, the first incident occurred on the afternoon of December 16 in a house located in the village of Budăi, Taraclia district. A 73-year-old woman, who lived alone, was found by locals after being poisoned by combustion products. By the time specialized services were called, the fire had already been extinguished. Preliminary investigations suggest that the cause of the fire was overheating of the stove.
The second case was reported in a house in the village of Țarigrad, Drochia district, where a 75-year-old man was found charred. IGSU authorities believe that the preliminary cause of this incident is also the overheating of the stove.
Further investigations are ongoing to determine all circumstances surrounding these incidents.
