Amusement park "Găgăuzia Land" is operating unlawfully, in the face of ongoing criminal investigations. Head of the IGP reacts

The amusement park "Găgăuzia Land," located in the village of Congaz, continues to operate without a permit. Despite this, the park launched its winter holiday festivities on the evening of December 20. The police have concluded two criminal cases related to the park, which have been sent to the court. Viorel Cernăuțeanu, the head of the IGP, stated that only local authorities have the power to halt the park's operations. Meanwhile, the mayor of Congaz said that he is awaiting the court's final decision regarding the matter.

The winter holidays started yesterday inn the village of Congaz in the south of the country. Hundreds of people came to the festivities.

The head of the General Inspectorate of Police, Viorel Cernăuțeanu, says that although the amusement park is operating without authorization, its closure can be done by the local authorities who are targeted in a criminal case in this regard, as well as by the contractor who carried out this project.

"Several criminal cases were opened against this department, including against the contractor who carried out work without authorization. A criminal case was opened against the local administration that admitted the work in its locality and allowed the functionality of the so-called leisure center, without having the appropriate permissive documents. In both cases, the criminal investigation was completed and was sent to court," claims the head of the IGP, Viorel Cernăuțeanu.

Contacted by Teleradio-Moldova, the mayor of Congaz village, Mihail Esir, said that the land for "Găgăuzia Land" was allocated by the decision of the local council and that there are now several disputes in court, which are not yet settled, and in the absence of a final decision, the park is operating.

We remind you that in August, a 10-year-old girl was hospitalized after she suffered a double fracture in her leg while playing in the Congaz amusement park. Later, two workers were electrocuted while working on the park's electrical installation, following a power outage.
