Andrei Spînu in Bucharest: The Republic of Moldova has sufficient reserves of gas and electricity for this winter

The Republic of Moldova has enough reserves of gas and electricity to get through this winter well, the Deputy Prime Minister, Andrei Spînu, told a show on digi24.ro.

According to the Moldovan minister, these days he is discussing with the officials from Bucharest about the energy resource supply strategy of the Republic of Moldova.

"We are halfway through winter. We are quite well prepared in the gas supply segment, we will definitely get through the winter. My visit to Bucharest is to discuss how we can better prepare together with Romania for the coming winter," stated Andrei Spînu.

It is noteworthy that Energocom procured gas for storage, capitalising on the 300 million euro loan granted by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Radio Moldova reminds its audience that yesterday, SA Energocom and Centrala de la Cuciurgan extended the contract regarding the supply of electricity to the right bank of the Dniester. Therefore, in February, approximately 230,000 MWh will be procured, at the price of $73 per MWh.
