Moldova’s December compensations: Gas users receive up to 1,000 lei
The compensations provided by the Government in December will range from 500 to 1,000 lei (~25-50 euro), with the largest amounts allocated to those who use gas for heating.
The announcement was made on Friday by Alexei Buzu, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection. He stated that in December, the average gas tariff after compensations would be lower than the previous year’s.
The compensations will be available starting January 10, and notifications about the compensation amounts will also be sent after this date.
"For December, the minimum compensation threshold will rise from 300 to 500 lei. The average compensation in November was 524 lei, and in December it will increase to 615 lei. The maximum threshold will rise from 800 to 1,000 lei in December," said the Minister.
Alexei Buzu mentioned that in December, more than 243,000 beneficiaries will receive compensations ranging from 500 to 600 lei, and 8,610 households will receive compensations between 600 and 700 lei. Over 278,000 beneficiaries will receive between 700 and 800 lei, and more than 19,000 will receive between 800 and 900 lei. For the most vulnerable, 93,000 beneficiaries will receive compensations ranging from 900 to 1000 lei.
The Minister assured that in January, following the increase in heating and electricity tariffs, compensations will be raised.
Additionally, Alexei Buzu noted that in November, the budget for compensations was approximately 334 million lei, and in December, it will rise to between 480 and 500 million lei.
