The term of activity of the Pre-vetting Commission will be extended
The term of activity of the Pre-vetting Commission was extended by another 6 months and will be active until June 30, 2023. Deputies voted today, in the first reading, amendments to the Law on some measures related to the selection of candidates for the position of member in the bodies of self-administration of judges and prosecutors.
The decision was taken following the request addressed by the Pre-vetting Commission to the Parliament’s Legal, Appointments and Immunities Committee. According to the legislation, the Commission was to evaluate, by the end of this year, the integrity of the judges in the vacant positions in the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) and the Superior Council of Prosecutors. Currently, the members of the Commission are in the process of evaluating the candidates for the vacant positions in the SCM.
