Subsidies for farmers who want to implement technological solutions

Farmers can receive grants of up to $7,500 to implement technological solutions for sustainable agriculture. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, grants are available under the Rural Resilience Project, financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) through adaptation programs for small producers.

Farmers can apply for subsidies to finance investments in equipment for the implementation of efficient irrigation technologies, equipment for conservation agriculture, anti-hail systems, equipment for the production of solar energy, machinery and equipment used in the production of organic crops.

The program stipulates that subsidies are granted for partial compensation of investments: individuals and legal entities can receive compensation of up to 70% of the cost of investment in agricultural equipment, but not more than $7,500 per beneficiary; cooperatives can receive compensation of up to 50% of the investment in agricultural equipment, but not more than $15,000 per beneficiary. Grant recipients cannot be citizens of Chisinau and Balti.

Applicants must be registered in the Republic of Moldova, have at least one year of experience in agriculture, own or rent up to 50 hectares of land and have a certificate attesting to non-polluting production activities.
