Volodymyr Zelensky asked his allies to equip the Ukrainian air force with fighter jets
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked his allies to equip the air force with fighter jets. The West has already put the issue of the transfer of aircraft to Ukraine on the table.

After tanks, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is asking for fighter jets. According to him, Ukraine must make progress in other areas of the defence system in order to put an end to Russian aggression. In this context, Volodymyr Zelenskiy discussed with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg the expansion of cooperation in artillery and the supply of aircrafts.
The West is already discussing the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine, reports Politico. In this context, equipping Ukraine with fighter jets has already become a topic of debate among Western officials, who do not want the conflict to escalate, the topic being promoted especially by Ukraine and the Baltic countries.
According to one of the interlocutors, Washington says that the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine is out of the question at the moment, but recalled that the United States initially did not accept or transmit Himars to the Ukrainian army, but later revised its decision.
Dutch Foreign Minister Wopke Hoekstra ( Uăpkei Heokstra ) told the parliament last week that his government will consider providing F-16 fighter jets if Kiev requests them.
The issue of the supply of combat aircraft could be discussed next month at the next meeting of Ukraine's Allies in Rammstein.
