Moldovan President Maia Sandu reports a lower salary, same apartment, and no car in the 2024 statement on property
The 2024 statement on property of Maia Sandu, President of the Republic of Moldova, shows a slight decrease in her income compared to the previous year. Her salary dropped to 244,931 lei from 263,407 lei in 2023. However, her daily allowances for foreign trips increased by about 5,000 lei, and reached a total of 100,176 lei.
President Sandu still owns the same 74.5 m² apartment, which she purchased in 2003, and it has an estimated value of 440,114 lei. Notably, in her 2024 declaration, she does not report any car, following the sale of a vehicle for 8,000 euros reported in 2023.
Regarding her savings, the head of state's bank accounts reflect a slight decrease. In 2023, she had an account in the United States with a balance of 300 dollars, which is no longer listed in 2024. Conversely, she has 5,123 lei in a bank account in Moldova, compared to 6,129 lei declared in 2023.
Additionally, the president has no debts or newly declared assets.
