February gas prices remain unchanged. ANRE has not identified any conditions for a reduction
The National Energy Regulator (ANRE) has not yet seen the conditions for lowering internal gas tariffs. Consequently, in February, the tariff will remain the same.
According to a press release issued by ANRE, the effect of the current fall on the exchanges is already taken into account by the Agency in the calculation of the estimated average annual price.
Moldovagaz purchased gas from Gazprom in December at a price of $1,094 per one thousand cubic metres, and the estimated price for purchase in 2023 on the TTF trading platform is $951 per one thousand cubic metres, according to ANRE. Similarly, the current tariff includes a price of around $927, which is lower than the procurement price.
"In view of the above, ANRE will keep closely monitoring the developments in the natural gas sector and in case of the emergence of favourable premises for a decrease in regulated prices, it will take all necessary actions as provided for by the regulatory framework in force," reads the ANRE press release.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spînu said that in February, the domestic gas tariff could fall by up to 10%.
