Israel opens its embassy in Chisinau
Israel opened its first embassy in the Republic of Moldova today. On this occasion, Tel Aviv Foreign Minister Gideon Moshe Sa’ar is visiting the Republic of Moldova and met with his Moldovan counterpart, Mihai Popșoi. The head of diplomacy from Chișinău noted that the opening of this embassy will boost Moldovan-Israeli relations.

“This historic decision underlines the importance that Israel attaches to our relations and provides a new impetus to bilateral cooperation in several areas,” said Mihai Popșoi.
The Israeli Foreign Minister highlighted the symbolism of this moment, noting that the inauguration of the embassy will benefit the Jews who are in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the citizens of the Republic of Moldova in Israel.
“This is a special visit and I am honored to be here today to open the Israeli Embassy in the Republic of Moldova. Israel and the Republic of Moldova are friends. "There is a fairly significant community in Israel of people who emigrated from the Republic of Moldova and successfully integrated and retain warm feelings towards the Republic of Moldova," said the Israeli official.
The officials discussed collaboration in areas of common interest, such as the economy, technological innovation, agriculture, natural resources, and renewable energy. Gideon Moshe Sa'ar noted that Israel has expertise in sustainable technologies and expressed his willingness to share good practices in this area with our country.
The ministers also talked about developing joint projects in the field of solar energy and energy efficiency, thus contributing to the diversification of the energy sources of the Republic of Moldova.
