Maia Sandu awarded the "Order of Honor" to Luminița Odobescu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania

President Maia Sandu awarded the “Order of Honor” to Luminița Odobescu for her achievements during her term as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania. The distinction was granted to the former head of Romanian diplomacy, currently State Counselor for Foreign Policy and Strategic Affairs within the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania, in appreciation for her work in promoting the strategic partnership between Bucharest and Chișinău and for supporting the Republic of Moldova on the European Union agenda.

Also, during her term, the Romanian Government supported the Republic of Moldova by integrating energy systems and supplying electricity from Romania at a capped price.

Also, thanks to her firm steps, Luminița Odobescu contributed to promoting the opening of accession negotiations of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union, reads a press release of the Presidency.

"Honored to receive today, in Chișinău, from the President the "Order of Honor" of the Republic of Moldova. It is a recognition of the efforts made together with colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also a responsibility to continue supporting the European path of the Republic of Moldova," Luminița Odobescu wrote on X.
