Over 3,600 extremely vulnerable rural households will benefit from aid to alleviate the crisis

More than 3,600 extremely vulnerable rural agricultural households in the Republic of Moldova will benefit from aid in the framework of a project worth 840 thousand dollars implemented by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the Government of Japan.

The project will contribute, together with two others, to mitigating the effects of the ongoing crisis. The beneficiaries of the project will receive agricultural inputs for the cultivation of cereals, the growth of vegetables and for the maintenance of animals.

Also, trainings will be organized for them on best agricultural practices to increase resilience to climate change.

Starting with March 2022, FAO is implementing in the Republic of Moldova an emergency assistance program with a total budget of almost 3.5 million dollars, of which 500 thousand dollars were allocated from the Organization's own funds, and the rest of the funds were mobilized with the support of other donors.
