Andrei Spînu assures that the Republic of Moldova has the necessary gas stock

The Republic of Moldova has the necessary stock secured to get out of the cold period of the year, although there are not enough quantities on the natural gas market at the moment, said the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spînu, in a program on TVR Moldova.

"We started buying and stockpiling gas last year in the spring, we bought the largest amount of gas in October, November, December and early January. We bought it mostly from international markets. We also signed an agreement with the EBRD. We are much more prepared to face any future energy crisis", said Andrei Spînu.

He also said that due to the low temperatures, in February the price of natural gas will increase. The official stated that from the 300 million euro credit granted by the EBRD, the Republic of Moldova managed to make natural gas reserves for the entire cold period of the year.

At the same time, Andrei Spînu mentioned that currently the Republic of Moldova buys natural gas for approximately 630 dollars per thousand cubic meters. We remind you that previously, the Deputy Prime Minister, Andrei Spînu, discussed in Bucharest the future strategy of gas supply from Romania.
