Man sentenced to three and a half years in prison for false bomb alerts in Chisinau
A man has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for making nine false bomb alerts. The ruling was issued by the Chisinau Court based in Buiucani. This sentence is not final and can be appealed to the Court of Appeal.

The man was previously convicted of the same offenses in July 2023, but with a suspended prison sentence. This time, he will be behind bars, after the case was retried following the appeal filed by prosecutors.
The 43-year-old defendant was found guilty of committing several false bomb alerts in Chisinau, between October and November 2022. He made several calls to the 112 Service, falsely reporting the placement of explosives in shopping centers, courts and universities.
The false alerts prompted the intervention of law enforcement and the evacuation of people from the targeted locations, but no explosive materials were found following the checks.
