The World Bank will offer the Republic of Moldova a loan for the development of the livestock sector

The World Bank will offer the Republic of Moldova a loan of 55 million dollars. This money will be used for the modernization of irrigation systems, the development of the livestock sector and the strengthening of the capacities of relevant institutions, said in an interview for Radio Moldova, the head of the policy department in the livestock sector at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Valentin Roșca.

"For the first time, we have support from the World Bank, namely for the development of the livestock sector, of 55 million US dollars, of which 5 million will be allocated to strengthen the institutional capacities of institutions in the agri-food sector. It is about ANSA and AIPA. 25 million dollars will be allocated for the development of the irrigation sector, and another 25 million - for the development of the livestock sector", said Valentin Roșca.

Valentin Roșca reminded that the Law on Animal Husbandry was adopted last year, and currently, the normative acts for the implementation of the law are being drawn up. In addition, the Ministry is also working on the development of a new Subsidy Regulation for agricultural producers.
