Chisinau beggars fake illnesses, disabilities
They feigned illness or disabilities to beg on the streets of Chisinau, Moldova. Twenty-two people have been penalized since the beginning of the year for such practices.

Law enforcement has issued 26 citations for faking medical conditions and five more for begging based on false claims about needing expensive medical treatment.
Despite being fined nine times, one man continues to beg on the streets, falsely claiming to have a disability. Police confiscated four wheelchairs he used to make illegal income.
Authorities warn that begging may be a front for scams or even organized crime and urge citizens to report such activity by calling 112.
