OSCE pledges support for Moldova amid Ukraine crisis impact

The agenda of discussions between President Maia Sandu and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Hadi Sinirlioğlu, who was visiting Chișinău on a working trip, focused on regional security, the reintegration process of the Republic of Moldova, and human rights issues in the Transnistrian region.

The meeting also addressed the impact of Russia's aggression in Ukraine on Moldova, including its effect on the Transnistrian settlement process. They discussed the necessary measures to strengthen democracy and the rule of law in response to foreign attempts to undermine democracy in the Republic of Moldova.

The OSCE Secretary General reaffirmed the organization’s support for the resilience of Moldova and its commitment to continue cooperating for stability in this part of Europe, as noted in a press release from the Bureau of Reintegration Policies.

Tiraspoltransgaz returned, between March 26 and 31, 3 million cubic meters of natural gas to Moldovagaz, based on the contractual conditions established by the Commission for Emergencies (CSE).
