Traffic restrictions in Chisinau on February 28 in connection with the funeral of Vladimir Beșleagă
Traffic will be temporarily suspended on Friday, February 28, 2025, starting at 12:00 PM on several streets in the city center due to the funeral of writer Vladimir Beșleagă, the Chișinău City Hall announced.
According to the cited source, traffic restrictions will be applied to the following streets:
A. Pușkin Street, between 31 August 1989 Street and Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard; Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, between A. Pușkin Street and V. Alecsandri Street; V. Alecsandri Street, between Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard and A. Mateevici Street; A. Mateevici Street, between V. Alecsandri Street and Bulgară Street.
The writer’s funeral will take place on February 28, with a mourning rally organized at the National Palace. Additionally, the day of the funeral was declared a national day of mourning in the Republic of Moldova. State flags will be flown at half-mast, and public institutions and citizens are encouraged to observe a moment of silence in memory of the writer who shaped the nation's identity.
