ANSA: Around 4,800 kilograms of food products have been withdrawn from trade
The National Food Safety Agency has applied marketing restrictions on non-compliant food products of animal and non-animal origin totalling about 4,800 kg.
The Territorial Directorate for Food Safety of mun. Chisinau initiated a series of scheduled controls at public food and trade units, as a result of which several non-compliances and serious violations of food safety legislation have been detected. These violations concerned the lack of a traceability system for food products, lack of information about producers, food products with expired shelf life, unlabelled products, inadequate hygienic condition of public food establishments, failure to respect the proximity of products, menu offered to consumers does not comply with legal requirements, lack of mandatory information (energy value, net quantity, presence of allergens), lack of medical control and hygienic training of staff and failure to display information for consumers in a visible place.
As a result of the non-compliances detected, 22 official reports were drawn up on contraventions against both legal persons and persons in positions of responsibility in the establishments checked.
