Sappers neutralized 51 explosives in a village in Leova district
The team of engineers from the "Dacia" Motorized Infantry Brigade identified and neutralized on Wednesday 51 explosives in the village of Orac, Leova district.
Military sappers were requested by local authorities, who, following works to install gas networks, discovered several objects in the ground.
Following the field investigation, the demining group led by Captain Aliona Bezman identified 37 45 mm artillery shells, 12 82 mm grenade launchers, and two 88 mm anti-tank missiles.
The ammunition was from the Second World War and was neutralized under maximum security conditions at the Training Center of the military unit in Cahul, reads a statement from the Ministry of Defense.
