Chisinau Municipal Council meets in extraordinary sitting

Today, 31 January, an extraordinary meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) is scheduled.

Possible suspension of water and sewage services by Apă-Canal Chisinau due to the company's debts to the electricity supplier will be the main topic on the agenda.

The Chisinau City Hall urges the Commission for Exceptional Situations to cover the arrears of Apă-Canal Chisinau, threatening that otherwise the municipality could run out of water as of 1 February.

The separatist authorities in Tiraspol have not given any response to Ukraine’s proposal to supply coal to the Transnistrian region, in the context of the energy crisis generated by the interruption of Russian gas supplies by Gazprom, announced the leader in Kiev, Volodymyr Zelensky. According to him, Ukraine is open to helping Moldovan citizens on the left bank of the Nistru who are suffering “due to the deliberate actions of the Russian Federation” that caused the crisis in the region.
