Heating season is over: institutions and apartment buildings can request disconnection

The 2024-2025 heating season is closed. Starting today, March 24, all consumers connected to the centralized heating system in Chisinau can request the cessation of the delivery of heating agent.

According to the order issued by the municipal authorities, the thermal energy suppliers—Termoelectrica and Apă-Canal Chișinău – will ensure the gradual disconnection of apartment buildings and educational and medical institutions, at their request and in accordance with the contractual provisions.

The measure also targets economic agents as well as other consumers connected to the centralized network.

After the end of the heating season, consumers in Chișinău will still benefit from centralized domestic hot water, informs Chisinau City Hall.

On March 27, it turns 107 years since 1918, when the Sfatul Țării (Council of the Country) voted for the Union of Bessarabia with Romania. This was the first of the historical provinces to join Romania. Later that year, the other Romanian provinces—Transylvania, Crișana, Banat, Maramureș, and Bukovina—also joined and created Greater Romania.

At least 24 employees of the Placement Center for People with Disabilities in Bădiceni, Soroca, will be sanctioned, and the institution will undergo reshuffles, announced the Minister of Labor and Social Protection, Alexei Buzu, on the "Rezoomat" show on Rlive. According to him, the ministry started a deeper analysis of the situation, after a journalistic investigation revealed serious abuses against the center's beneficiaries.
