Trump announces U.S.-Ukraine mineral resources deal

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington and Ukraine have finalized an agreement on mineral resource extraction, which is set to be signed soon, Unian reports.
"Right now, we are discussing territory, demarcation lines, energy, and the ownership of power plants. Some say the United States should control the power plants because we have the necessary expertise," Trump said.
Last week, U.S. officials suggested assuming control of Ukraine's nuclear power plants to safeguard them. In response, Zelensky affirmed that the nuclear plants are state-owned but indicated that Kyiv may consider American investments in the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which remains under Russian occupation.
