Transnistrian conflict settlement and regional security context on the agenda in Tbilisi
Moldovan-Georgian cooperation relations, the reform agenda implemented by the Moldovan and Georgian authorities and the regional security context were discussed in Tbilisi. In the Georgian capital, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian met with Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani, Georgian Minister for Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs Zurab Azarashvili and Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia Tibor Kozma.
According to a press release of the Chisinau Government, the officials in Tbilisi have also reviewed sustained efforts Moldova is making to settle the Transnistrian conflict peacefully, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
"Particular attention was paid to the regional security context and the management of current risks and vulnerabilities, especially related to the war in Ukraine and support measures for Ukrainian refugees, as well as the need to continue the inter-institutional dialogue on issues related to the peaceful and sustainable settlement of the conflicts on the territories of the Republic of Moldova and Georgia ", announces the Executive.
The Moldovan delegation, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian, visited the town of Odzisi, near the "Line of Contact" with the Tbilisi-occupied/uncontrolled territories.
The parties also agreed to continue active interaction, with the exchange of best practices in the field of reintegration policies for the uncontrolled territories and identification of ways to support each other in this regard.
Deputy Prime Minister Serebrian's visit to Tbilisi takes place at the invitation of the Georgian Minister of State for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani, and takes place from 30-31 January this year. The Chisinau delegation includes the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ruslan Bolbocean, and the Deputy Head of the Bureau for Reintegration Policy, Eugen Cara.
