Corneliu Durnescu steps down from Moldova 1 leadership

Corneliu Durnescu has resigned as Deputy General Director of Teleradio-Moldova after serving for three years as head of the public television channel Moldova 1.

The announcement was made by TRM’s General Director, Vlad Țurcanu, on social media. In a public statement, Corneliu Durnescu expressed his gratitude to all his colleagues for their dedication, patience, and support.

“Corneliu demonstrated exceptional dedication to his work. He reshaped the television station, built editorial teams, and developed high-quality programs. With his leadership, we succeeded. We are grateful for all he has done for Moldova 1. Corneliu will now dedicate himself to personal projects, and we wish him much success. We will announce his replacement at a later time,” wrote Teleradio-Moldova’s General Director, Vlad Țurcanu, on Facebook.

“I am grateful to all my colleagues for their dedication, patience, and support. These past three years have been intense, challenging, and exciting. I gave my absolute best! Keep striving for success together!” wrote Corneliu Durnescu in his response on social media.

Corneliu Durnescu is a journalist and television producer from the Republic of Moldova. He was appointed as Deputy General Director of Teleradio-Moldova in December 2021.

Previously, he worked at Radio Moldova, Jurnal TV, and produced television projects such as Star Academy (Fabrica de Staruri). In recent years, before his appointment at Moldova 1, he was a producer at Radio Free Europe.
