Radio Moldova celebrates 75 years of Radio Theatre

Radio Moldova is celebrating, on Thursday, 75 years of Radio Theatre – an epic of sound and image that has reached the homes and souls of listeners across the country. Directors, playwrights, actors and theatre critics will gather at a Gala Show to celebrate this cultural tradition, said Ludmila Alexei, producer of the show “Teatrul la Microfon” in the program “Dimineata cu Radio Moldova”.
Today is the RadioTheatre's 75th anniversary gala on the airwaves, "History, Performance and Perspectives". First of all, the titans of the Radio Theatre are invited. We invited Vitalie Rusu, Paulina Zavtoni, Iurie Nigoiță, Nicolae Darie. They are the actors who have collaborated with us since the 70s, and here we are today. They are the veteran directors of "Teatru la microfon", they are our radio colleagues, all the creative teams that have advanced the art of sound to new heights. Yes, we also have surprises.
The first show, which was staged in 1950, is preserved in the Radio Moldova archive and is based on the play "Piatra din Casă" by Vasile Alecsandri. The main parts were played by the actors Eugeniu Ureche, Valeriu Cupcea, Arcadie Plăcintă and Ecaterina Cazimirov. Both plays staged on Radio Moldova and performances recorded at theatres in the Republic of Moldova and Romania had been broadcast for a period of 74 years.
