Speaker Igor Grosu and Minister Mihai Popșoi will participate in the inauguration of the Republic of Moldova's consulates in the USA

Two general consulates of the Republic of Moldova will be inaugurated in the US on March 29, during the working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, and the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu. The first will be opened in Sacramento and the second in Chicago, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Legislative from Chișinău.

The opening ceremony of the Consulate General in Sacramento will be attended by the Head of Moldovan Diplomacy Mihai Popșoi, and the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, will participate in the inauguration event of the Consulate in Chicago.

In the USA, the Parliament Speaker will meet representatives of Moldovans established in Ashville and Orlando. He will also visit some businesses in transport, construction, and logistics managed by Moldovans who settled in the USA.

The agenda of the visit to the USA also includes a series of meetings with American senators and congressmen, members of the Friendship Group with the Republic of Moldova in the US Congress, reads the Parliament's press release.

"The expansion of the consular network represents a strategic step to improve the services offered to Moldovan citizens in the US. The opening of the consulates in Sacramento and Chicago will contribute to strengthening ties with the diaspora and facilitating access to quality consular services", reads the press release of the MFA.

According to the cited source, the Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs will meet with officials from the State Department, the US Congress, and the National Security Council in Washington. Mihai Popșoi will participate in a public debate organized by the Atlantic Council think tank, where he will speak about the Republic of Moldova's path to EU accession and the deepening of bilateral relations with the US.

On April 6, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi will meet with members of the Moldovan community in Orlando, Florida.
