Storm Nuria batters southern Spain with deadly tornadoes

Extreme weather continues to wreak havoc in southern Spain, as Storm Nuria triggers violent tornadoes, flooding, and landslides.
At least three people have died and four others have been injured after a building collapsed in Seville, while another tornado struck the Huelva region.
Andalusia has been hit the hardest, with Storm Nuria bringing torrential rain and strong winds to Seville, leading to severe flooding.
Three people lost their lives when a tornado destroyed a building where several workers were present. Violent gusts of wind ripped the roof off, with debris scattered as far as a kilometre away.
In Huelva, another tornado formed, leaving at least four people seriously injured. Violent winds swept through multiple areas across southern Iberia. Southern Spain and the Canary Islands have both been affected in recent days. Wind speeds have exceeded 140 km/h, leading to the temporary closure of several ports for safety reasons. Flights have also been cancelled or rerouted.
In some areas, heavy rainfall triggered landslides. Storm Nuria is the 14th to strike the Iberian Peninsula in the past two months. According to meteorologists, the unstable weather is expected to persist, keeping the risk of extreme weather events high across several regions.
