In the presidential elections in Romania, 64 polling stations will be opened in the Republic of Moldova, which is five more than in the presidential election last fall.

If the proposal from the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is approved by the Permanent Electoral Authority, Romania will have more polling stations than the US, which has proposed only 50 polling stations.

The highest number of polling stations will be organized in Italy and Malta, with 161 each, followed by Spain with 147 polling stations, the UK- 108 stations, France (including the Principality of Monaco)- 69, Belgium- 29, and the Netherlands- 23. Additionally, Romanians in the diaspora will have the opportunity to vote over three days.

We remind you that the presidential elections in Romania are scheduled for May. The electoral campaign officially began on April 4 and will conclude on May 3, the day before the first round of voting. The second round is set for May 18.

The final list of candidates includes 11 individuals who are eligible to run for president. This list features both current and former party leaders, former government officials, the mayor of the capital, as well as candidates who previously participated in the November 2024 elections.
