Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Austria: Temporary traffic restrictions at the borders with Austria and Slovakia

The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Austria advises Moldovan citizens who are currently in, passing through, or planning to travel to Austria and Slovakia that both countries have implemented temporary border movement restrictions due to confirmed outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease. As part of these measures, several border crossing points will be closed for a specific period.

Thus, between April 5 and May 20, 2025, the following border crossing points will be closed:

between Austria and Slovakia: Angern-March – Záhorská Ves and Schloss Hof – Devínska Nová Ves

between Austria and Hungary: Andau – Jánossomorja, Andau – Kapuvár (access to the Andau Bridge), Baumgarten – Sopron, Deutsch Jahrndorf – Rajka and other crossing points.

In parallel, between April 8 and May 7, 2025, the following crossing points will be closed in Slovakia:

between Slovakia and Austria: Záhorská Ves – Angern

between Slovakia and Hungary: Čunovo – Rajka, Radvaň nad Dunajom – Neszmély, Ipeľské Predmostie – Drégelypalánk and others.

Moldovan citizens who plan to travel during this period are advised to check their routes to avoid closed crossings, as there is a risk of being redirected or getting stuck in traffic. For additional information and updates, it is recommended to visit the official websites of the Ministry of Interior of Austria and the Ministry of Interior of Slovakia.
