Most schools in the Republic of Moldova comply with the rules prohibiting the use of mobile phones during classes, said Viorica Negrei, head of the general education management department at the Ministry of Education and Research, in the show "Dimineata cu Radio Moldova". According to her, over 83% of institutions apply the regulations, and the use of phones for educational purposes is present in 99% of schools.

"Teachers already have a positive attitude towards the ban on the use of mobile phones during lessons, which is also seen by parents through the results of students. Why through the results of students? We have the other positive side – the increase in students' concentration in the educational process. Also, we found that we have fewer complaints in the cyber violence segment. For example, hate messages or other types, transmitted by children in groups, which often distracted children from the educational process, no longer represent an aspect that diminishes students' concentration for the lesson."

We remind you that, starting with the second semester of education, students in the Republic of Moldova are prohibited from using electronic communication devices during classes, except for educational or emergency cases, such as health problems or monitoring the health status of students with disabilities.

To evaluate the effectiveness of this measure, the Ministry of Education conducted a survey that shows that in over 80% of schools in the Republic of Moldova, the rules prohibiting the use of mobile phones by students are respected.
