Flag Day dress rehearsal held in the center of Chisinau
Preparations for Flag Day are in full swing. This morning, the first dress rehearsal took place in the Great National Assembly Square. According to the authorities, on April 27, when we celebrate Flag Day, an official ceremony will take place, attended by both police and military personnel, as well as several state officials.
Police and military staff are preparing intensely for the official ceremony, paying close attention to every move. The event, which will take place on Sunday in the center of Chisinau, will be attended by officers and non-commissioned officers from the "Fulger" Special Purpose Brigade, the National Army Honor Guard, and students from the Police Academy.
"It is a difficult training, because the forces were gathered quickly. Especially the students of the Academy are on vacation, but we are fully prepared. It is important from traditional and patriotic viewpoints", says Andrei Malancea, head of section at the "Stefan cel Mare" Academy.
"We have a week of preparation for this event, but we prepare daily for events such as Flag Day, Independence Day or all the ceremonies that are put before us to show everything we know", says Major Pavel Lîsîi.
Flag Day coincides with Easter of the Dead, so the authorities say the event will take place in a smaller format. The ceremony will begin at eight in the morning and will last about 30 minutes, when the largest tricolor in the country will be hoisted and the national anthem will be sung. All activities will be broadcast online as well as by the public broadcaster Moldova 1.
"The event of April 27 comes to evoke a symbol and a message. The flag, the tricolor unites us all, from north to south, from east to west. All state institutions will also have distinct events on this occasion. Throughout the day we will see messages, posts and we have also invited citizens, local administrations, private enterprises to proudly fly the flag of the Republic of Moldova", mentioned the Government Spokesperson, Daniel Vodă.
The State Flag Day is marked on April 27, starting with 2010 in the Republic of Moldova.
